Riona Connors is a Doctor for all things not human. If it has a magical ability or alternate DNA, Riona is the woman to turn to. Her clinic in Manhattan is open 24 hours to better serve whatever emergency pops up.

Medical Training Edit
Riona has no magical or supernatural abilities. She is however an extremely talented medical doctor, her test scores in medical school were in the top ten percentile. Riona has also been trained in hand to hand self defense. She originally took up self defense lessons when she was an attending for the ER, and continued the lessons as a way to keep herself protected and athletic. She does not use this skill to harm, only to subdue.
Riona has recently acquired a tattoo from the talented Shane Jones. This tattoo can put up a shield to protect her from blunt force objects and also can be used to calm people to sleep. Both spells take concentration and prolonged use will tire her out. She also runs the chance of putting herself to sleep if used too long.

Riona has blond hair, usually cut to fall around her shoulders though she does sometimes go a bit shorter. She has brilliant blue eyes and slightly tanned skin, which she admits she goes tanning. Riona stands at 5'11" tall and she absolutely loves to wear high heels, making her far taller than the average woman. She tries to keep herself well exercised though she doesn't always have the time for it with her growing private practice. Clothing happens to be her weakness, she always dresses up, even when she goes to work. Fashionable skirts, blouses, and jewelry make up most of her wardrobe. When working she also wears the telltale white lab coat of her profession. Riona has a white rose tattooed on her right hip with her sister's name written along the bottom petals.
Personal Belongings Edit
Riona is almost never seen without the silver locket that hangs around her neck, the locket was a gift from her twin sister who died when they were children. She also keeps a stethoscope and a small first aid kit in her purse in case of emergencies.
Personality Edit
Riona can be described by her friends and family as a warm and loving person. Her ability to see most situations from every angle or point of view allows her to mediate any feud and turn it into a happy ending. She is very level headed and it takes a lot to make her angry. Her new path for her life isn't held in the highest of regard with the rest of the medical field but she refuses to let that stop her. She believes she's doing what she needs to be doing, and seeing as she isn't breaking any laws doing it, she ignores those who would like nothing more then to see her fail. Her best friend calls her a workaholic, which she can't seem to deny. Her clinic is her baby, and she'd do anything to see that it survives.
History Edit
Riona and her twin sister, Rochelle were born in Manhattan to a young socialite and a rather successful Lawyer. Her life was a fairytale until the age of nine when Rochelle became deathly ill with Leukemia. On their tenth birthday, Rochelle gave Riona a silver locket engraved with their birth date and the words "I'll always watch over you" on the back. Inside, it held pictures of them both, taken just before Rochelle fell ill. Riona understood that Rochelle knew she was going to die that day, and stayed by her side the entire time. The adults were all surprised at how well she took her sister's death, but when asked she would simply reach up and touch her locket and tell them "She's not gone, she's right here with me." Her sister's illness however sparked a passion that had lain dormant inside her. From that point on she knew she wanted to be a doctor.
Her parents were shocked at Riona's new found hunger, but were ultimately caught up in the girl's passion, sending her to the best schools the city could offer. A few years later when she was faced with the option of attending private schools or public high school she astounded everyone once more by choosing a public high school. Her reasoning? "I need to better understand them if I'm going to help them." She also began to volunteer at the local hospitals, widening her resume and polishing it for her later years in college. Half way through her junior year, Riona's life would be forever changed. During one of her science classes, one of the other students messed up their experiment and caused an explosion. During the Chaos, Riona kept her cool and helped the teacher get everyone out. As the smoke filled the room, Riona heard the sound of someone coughing. Instantly, she darted back into the classroom, searching for whoever was left inside. In the corner, she found Amy Heart. Riona recognized the signs of an asthma attack brought on by smoke inhalation. As the chemicals spread across the floor, fueling the fire, Riona knew she had to get Amy out of there. Picking up a chair from a nearby table, Riona hurled it through the window, which for some reason didn't open. She quickly pushed out all the glass shards and then practically pulled Amy out the window and into the alley behind the school. The girls from that point on were practically inseparable. Even when Riona went off to medical school and Amy stayed behind, the two remained close. It didn't take Riona the full 8 years to earn her PH.D. as she was constantly taking extra credits and classes. Even with the double class load, Riona received straight A's. At her graduation she was approached by the Medical Director for the Lenox Hill hospital in Manhattan. He offered her a job with their ER and she instantly accepted. Upon returning to Manhattan she wasted no time in reconnecting with Amy Heart.
During the events of 2012, Riona's world was once more turned upside down. While many of her colleagues lost their faith in science and medicine altogether, Riona's faith was renewed. She knew she was needed now more then ever, but it was Amy which gave her the idea to leave Lenox Hill and start her own private practice, geared towards helping the victims of 2012. She sold the penthouse her parents had bought for her and bought a large building in South Manhattan. The top floor she had renovated as her new home, and the rest of the 4 story building she turned into a high tech medical facility. Now she serves the new magical community as one of the few places they can turn to in a medical emergency, anytime of day or night. She also hired on three other doctors of the same viewpoint as herself.
